Rehearse before an important conversation.

Sometimes you know what you want to say, but the first words won’t come. Try saying them aloud beforehand so you have somewhere to start at the meeting.

One small attempt

30 seconds for yourself

Introduce yourself
more clearly

Your listener can understand you more easily when your role comes with a task and an example. See how three small edits change the story.

Before editing · teaching example

“Well, I, sort of, work on projects. I have varied experience. I work a lot with the team. I suppose my strength is being organised”.

There are words. But what can someone ask you for?

After editing

“I manage projects. I help the team agree on tasks and deadlines. For example, I organise the launch of a new service, from the first discussion to release”.

Role → task → example. Now it is clear how you can help.

What changed in the introduction

Name your role, not just your field

“Work on” leaves the listener guessing. “Manage” explains your responsibility. Choose a precise verb for your work.

Try it with your own introduction

In Ritora’s Russian-language introduction trainer, you can record your speech and get feedback for the next attempt.

This is a teaching example. The website does not record or analyse your voice.

Who created Ritora?

Ritora and its teaching approach were created by Maria Askerova, a public speaking and speech technique coach. Ritora brings together short speaking exercises, trainers, materials, podcasts and courses.

What is Ritora?

Ritora is a speaking practice app with short exercises, eight trainer categories, materials and courses. Practise diction, impromptu answers, introductions, persuasion, presentations, retelling, voice and word play. The app is currently in Russian; this website includes an English demo.

Where can I use the app?

Ritora currently opens in Telegram, in Russian. No separate installation is needed. iOS and Android apps are being prepared; store links will appear here after launch. English app availability has not been announced.

How much time does practice take?

It depends on the exercise: one minute of speaking for impromptu practice, three minutes for voice and breathing. Start with one task when it suits you. You can allow more time for materials and course lessons.

How are trainers different from materials and courses?

A trainer is a speaking task you can repeat. Materials help you explore a particular question. A course provides a sequence of lessons on a topic. Choose the format that fits your task.

Can I start if I have never practised speaking?

Start with a tongue twister, a short introduction or a simple impromptu topic. After one attempt, choose something to improve, such as shortening the opening or adding an example. Then try again.

How does access work?

Start with the free features. PRO opens trainers without daily limits. Paid courses, diagnostics and individual lessons are purchased separately. Current terms are shown in the app before payment.

Does this website record my voice?

No. Read a task, say your answer aloud and use the prompt to check your attempt. The microphone stays off. For voice exercises with feedback, open the Russian Ritora app.

How does speech feedback work?

The introduction trainer provides automated feedback on your answer’s content and structure, with suggestions for your next attempt. Consider whether the suggestions fit your goal: automated feedback can be wrong. Other trainers offer different forms of feedback.
